What could be better than a million dollars? How about a man who uses his money to buy pet alligators and set up a one-of-a-kind boxing school in his stables? Fred MacMurray is "The Happiest Millionaire" (1967) in this giddy song and dance fest from Disney. Adapted from the play, and based on Kyle Crichton's book "My Philadelphia Father," this story of a wildly wealthy eccentric, and the immigrant who arrives to be his butler, is always a crowd pleaser. Lesley Ann Warren and John Davidson make their screen debuts in this charming offering that the whole family can enjoy.

    Comments about this product:

This is a musical by Walt Disney. Starring Fred MacMurray as the eccentric millionaire.

Greer Garson is charming lady, tolerate of her husband.
Tommy Steele is the new butler, he never gets a yes or no from his interview, so he pitches into the chaos. Leslie Ann Warren and her boyfriend, John Davidson, participate in song and dance.

There is alligators in the conservatory, a Bible-Boxing School is in the Gymnasium, the household is bedlam. A set-up for a good family comedy. It seems to fail because of too much music and not enough grit to plot and story, in my opinion.

I will let you decide. Some people like musicals so much they forget the lack of strong story lines. I purchased this without seeing movie first, so some disappointment. But, I like the zany scenes, like when the alligators escape. Undecided, in recommendation.
