When the German zeppelin Hindenburg catches fire, it's trial by fire for Colonel Ritter, played by George C. Scott. "The Hindenburg" (1975) chronicles a story sewn together from fact and fiction to give life to the Hindenburg tragedy. In the days leading up to the fire, there are threats made about taking the German airship down. Once disaster strikes, daring survival escapes are made and as the smoke clears, not everyone lives. Utilizing actual newsreel footage, "The Hindenburg" depicts a sad historical story filled with deception.

    Comments about this product:

Great story that really brings to light that breif time when airships seemed the way to go. Elegence in the clouds, shaddowed by the intreges of pre-war germany. Explores the possibility, that the fire was sabotage.
