This 1927 silent masterpiece, directed by the legendary Cecile B. Demille, chronicles the last weeks of Jesus Christ's life before his crucifixion, with Dorothy Cumming as Mary Magdalene and H.B. Warner as Jesus. This 2-disc Criterion Collection presentation of Demille's biblical epic includes both the 112-minute cut that went into general release and the rare 155-minute version that was played on May 18, 1927 to mark the opening of the most famous movie palace in the world: Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
