In this musical comedy, no-luck sweatshop worker Pearl whittles the days away by singing songs for her other unlucky coworkers. However, when a successful actress arrives to pick up her costumes and hears the heavenly voice of Pearl, she vows to get the girl out of the poor house and into Hollywood. Each twenty-minute vignette starts off with Pearl in a harrowing situation, only to be rescued, and the end of each episode follows up with Pearl once again being put in a horrific, death-defying scary situation. This film is a must-watch for those who like action and suspense with a tinge of sentimentality.
