Thrilling and chilling, Edward G. Robinson stars in this pair of noir films. In the once-controversial "Scarlet Street" (1945), Robinson plays a middle-aged cashier, whose life tragically changes when he gets pulled into the schemes of a beautiful and manipulative young woman, played by Joan Bennett. The moody tale is a remake of Jean Renoir's "La Chienne," adapted by Dudley Nichols. And, a young boy uncovers a mysterious secret when he takes a job on a farm, in the dark drama "The Red House" (1947).
