This hilarious yet heartfelt 2004 tale stars Tom Hanks as Viktor Navorksi, whose plane lands at New York's JFK airport. Alas, during his flight, his home country of Krakozhia suffered a military coup, so Navorksi suffers a visit to no-man's land as he no longer can legally enter America, nor can he return to his now nonexistent country. Therefore, he makes the airport his new home. Through the film, which also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Navorksi's love interest, an always-passing-through stewardess, and Stanley Tucci as straight-laced customs chief, Frank Dixon, director Steven Spielberg cleverly presents a bird's eye view of the American immigrant experience.
