John Landis directs "Three Amigos" (1986), an absurdly funny adventure about three silent film stars who accidentally become heroes. Genre greats Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short play a failing silver screen trio, who head to small town Mexico thinking they are being offered money for an appearance. But it turns out the villager that sent for them thought they were real swashbucklers, and called upon them to help save the hamlet from violent bandits. Watching the bumbling trio try to figure out what comes next is one of the many laugh-out-loud joys of this zany and delirious romp.
