Description
The true story of one woman's confinement in a WWII Japanese prison camp.

Claudette Colbert stars in this harrowing war drama based on the autobiography of American author Agnes Newton Keith. Trapped on Borneo when the Japanese invade the island during World War II, Mrs. Keith and her husband, a British administrator (Patric Knowles), are sent to separate prison camps with other American and British subjects. Mrs. Keith's camp is overseen by Colonel Suga (Sessue Hayakawa), who takes an avid interest in the American authoress. Despite his humanitarian views, he is helpless to intervene when she is subject to torture, starvation, and humiliation at the hands of the guards. Told in agonizing detail, Three Came Home is an unforgettable film that portrays the ultimate triumph of the human spirit in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

    Comments about this product:

This is a 1950 WWII drama starring Claudette Colbert. She portrays a real life American author, Agnes Newton Keith. The Japanese colonel even gets her autograph on the flyleaf of her book.

This is a true story. Since the Japanese culture had no respect for women, their contempt for foreign enemy women is worst. They live in a prison camp many long years.

Please watch this. I guarantee that you will enjoy the movie, even if the ugly truth hurts. Remember, this is history. Colbert gave a wonderful performance; she should have gotten an academy nomination, my opinion.

We have a movie club here and if it is good, show it to the ones that can't get out to movies. They enjoy them very much.

              Comments about this product:

A great film with the emphasis on the woman's point of view. Even though you know the end will be a happy one, (because of the film's title), you are put through a series of emotions as the picture tells its story. Claudette Colbert puts you in the front seat of the action.

                Comments about this product:

I got this movie last year. Since then I have
viewed this movie several times. I believe that
since this was based on an actual incident it
protrays some of the mistreatment and torture
the civilians were exposed to. Claudette Colbert
does an excellent job and conveys how the prisoners would do many things to survive. These
conditions actually existed in the camps at the time. Even though this is a film it conveys
a message of hope that keep many going until
their release. I recommend this film to anyone.
