Twelve Chairs (1970)DVD
Based on the 1928 Russian novel, Mel Brooks' stylish, funny and frantic 2003 film version is set in the aftermath of the Bolshevik revolution. A once-wealthy aristocrat, played by Ron Moody, is working a boring clerical job when he finds out that his family's fortune still exists. The loot is hidden in one of twelve chairs, so among the aristocrat, a crafty beggar played by Frank Langella, and an Orthodox priest portrayed by Dom DeLuise, it's an hilarious race to retrieve the goods.
