A brilliant swansong for a talented writer-director-actress who was sadly murdered prior to her film's general release, "Waitress" (2007) is a charming comedy from the mind of the late Adrienne Shelly, who also appears in a supporting role in the film. Starring Keri Russell as a waitress who, upon discovering she is pregnant while stuck in a loveless marriage to Jeremy Sisto, pours her nervous energy into baking pies and having an affair with OB-GYN Nathan Fillion in her final quest for happiness. Cheryl Hines and Andy Griffith - in one of his final film roles - lend their talents to what was arguably Shelley's crowning achievement. A unique film, Shelley received an Indie Spirit Award nomination for her whip-smart script.
