Description
Jimmy Cagney is a murderous psychopath, with a soft spot for his crusty mom, in the Academy Award-nominated "White Heat" (1949). Director Ronald Walsh guides Cagney through one of his most complex and finely wrought performances, as a man whose bloodlust leads to killing, imprisonment and revenge. Virginia May is superb as the wife neglected for the mother's love, and this disturbing thriller builds suspense as it hurtles toward a cripplingly vivid conclusion.

        Comments about this product:

This film stands up and stands out from all crime stories to this day. Steve Cochran, Virginia Mayo and Edmond O'Brien-all stellar, not to mention the perfection of James Cagney as the all-time number one raving psychopath with a sense of humor. My favorite suspenseful moments: O'Brien trying to explain what he's doing when confronted by Cagney outside the hideaway, and Mayo, frantically trying to escape the dark house where Cagney is silently stalking her.

            Comments about this product:

James Cagney should have gotten an Oscar for his performance in this movie. When the guy is in the trunk and he wants air and Cody shoots holes in the trunk, and at the end top of the world, Ma.
