Description
Debauchery and deceit abound in this lurid tale of a pair of self-destructive siblings spoiled by their father's oil wealth. Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone play a spoiled brother and sister enslaved by their personal demons. When Stack marries the beautiful Lauren Bacall, she keeps him on the straight and narrow for a while, until the death of their father and Malone's petty jealousies set them back on a path to disaster. Rock Hudson also co-stars in this powerful melodrama directed by the master of the genre, Douglas Sirk.

    Comments about this product:

Excellent movie. Rock Hudson is at his best as Mitch the long time friend to Robert Stack's character. Stack's character drinks his way to failure, but marries well. This makes his sister jealous as she can see an attraction between Stack's wife and Hudson's character. Jealousy is a major theme throughout the movie. But after a lot of tragedy it ends with romance. One of the best!

      Comments about this product:

Robert Stack is excellent in his portrayal of the drunken, spoiled, poor me, rich boy role. The depth of sadness he portrays is heartbreaking, you really feel his pain in not being good enough for his father.

Not my favorite Sirk, but it's a good show.
