Ex-con, former ballplayer, and Canadian cowpoke Ray Dokes (Luke Kirby) returns to Ontario hoping to avoid contact with Sonny Stanton, an ambitious man of privilege buying up land as part of a scheme to exhibit his thoroughbred horses. When Stanton casts his eye on the farm of an old flame, Ray comes up with an elaborate plan to put Stanton out of business.
