Batman and allies Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, Red Robin, Alfred, and Catwoman are transported to ancient Japan thanks to Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine. Trapped in the past, they find themselves facing the usual crop of evil-doers, who’ve also made the trip back through time and taken on the roles of ruthless feudal lords, the Joker being the most powerful of the bunch.
