On the run from the law, Billy the Kid and partners Jeff and Fuzzy decide to lay low at a ranch owned by Uncle Jim Blanchard. The trio discovers that Jim has vanished, and that homesteaders have taken possession of his land. Businessman Cobb Allen has been using underhanded means to drive the ranchers off before their mortgage is paid, and then re-selling their property to new settlers. Hoping to help the homesteaders get a square deal, Billy goes after Allen with guns blazing, but his tough guy approachdoesn't get him anywhere.
