Eight-year-old Anthony (Jaeden Lieberher) was uneasy about being left in the care of his alcoholic, underemployed carpenter dad Walt (Clive Owen) while his mom (Maria Bello) and stepfather (Matthew Modine) went on a weekend retreat.
