Buck Sawyer rides to the aid of a rancher who has been shot down in cold blood. Ruth Hopkins, the beautiful daughter of the murdered man, discovers the cowboy kneeling over her father's corpse, and takes him prisoner at gunpoint. Buck manages to flee, with a lynching party hot on his trail.
