While touring mid-17th-century France, the playwright Molière (Bernard Giraudeau) and his company stalwart "Gros-René" Berthelot (Patrick Timsit) were taken with the performance and beauty of the street dancer Marquise-Thérèse de Gorla (Sophie Marceau). Joining the troupe and becoming Berthelot’s wife, her ambition and promiscuity would lead to a fateful affair with Molière’s rival, Racine (Lambert Wilson). Lush effort co-stars Thierry Lhermitte as Louis XIV. 120 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: French; Subtitles: English. In French with English subtitles.
