When explorers land on an irradiated Pacific island and happen upon huge eggs and two foot-long native sisters (Yumi and Emi Ito, aka The Peanuts), they decide to bring their finds back to Japan. After being forced to appear in a freak show, the girls send out a call to Mothra, a gigantic female moth from back home, that now threatens Tokyo and wreaks havoc to retrieve her eggs and save the twins.
