A remake of the classic 1932 version, "The Mummy" (1959) stars Peter Cushing as archaeologist John Banning on a digging expedition in the Egyptian desert. During the excavation, Banning befouls the tomb of Princess Ananka as well as her dead lover, playedby Christopher Lee, by opening it. The mummy lurks behind Banning on his return to England, where the stalker becomes obsessed with John's ex-wife, played by Yvonne Furneaux, who greatly resembles Princes Ananka, and the mummy's plan to reincarnate his deceased lover is set in motion.
