An Irish fisherman (Colin Farrell) is understandably surprised when the day's catch includes a young woman (Alicja Bachleda) caught in his nets. As she stays in his late mother's remote cabin and befriends his ailing daughter, he falls for the mysterious beauty, while wondering if she's one of the mermaid-like selkie of Gaelic myth.
