This 1981 made-for-TV version of choreographer Bob Fosse's hit Broadway musical is now on DVD. It stars William Katt as Pippin, King Charlemagne's fictionalized son, who sets out to find the meaning of life. Ben Vereen is masterful in his Tony Award-winning role as the narrator, Broadway's virtuoso baritone Ben Rayson is the regal Charlemagne, and Chita Rivera and Martha Raye also light up the screen as Pippin's grandmother and step-mother. This first major Broadway play produced for the home video marketfeatures hit songs such as "Corner of the Sky," "No Time At All," and "Spread a Little Sunshine," as well as Fosse's characteristically dark and sexy dance moves.
