Robert Morse and George Maharis star in Quick, Before It Melts, a cool comedy about love and defection, based on the novel by The New York Times reporter Philip Benjamin. To prove hes worthy of his editors daughter (Yvonne Batgirl Craig), milquetoastjournalist Oliver Cannon (Morse) agrees to head to the Antarctic and report from an underground naval base. Realizing a scoop will cut short his stay, Oliver decides to create his own news with the aid of photographer friend Pete Santelli (Maharis). Intending to fly in a bevy of beauties to convince a Russian scientist (Michael Constantine) to defect, Oliver must dream up a way to outwit the Navy if hes to import the women, export the story and return home to marry his girl.
