Sleeping With the Enemy

Julia Roberts cemented her ascendant "Pretty Woman" stardom with"Sleeping with the Enemy,"now on Blu-ray. This 1990 dramatic thriller features Roberts as a desperate woman attempting to escape her violently abusive husband. On the surface, Roberts and Patrick Bergin live in a dream house, but for Roberts it's a house of horrors where vicious beatings by her husband follow the slightest infraction. Terrified and battered, she fakes her own death and relocates to a Midwestern town to be free of him. Learning to adjust to independent and peaceful life, including a budding attraction to local neighbor Kevin Anderson, she soon finds her happiness is short-lived once her husband puts two and two together.
