Fans of classic television may recall the ABC adventure saga Tales of the Gold Monkey from its initial prime-time run, spanning September 1982 through July 1983. The program starred Stephen Collins (7th Heaven) as Jake Cutter, an American soldier-of-fortune based on the (apocryphal) Marivella Islands in the South Pacific, circa 1938. He spent his days in and around the port of Boragora, surrounded by schemers, spies and con men of many nationalities and backgrounds, and embarking on various adventures, some of which involved his weathered seaplane, a Grumman Goose. Supporting characters included the drunken mechanic Corky (Jeff MacKay), French magistrate-cum-bar owner Bon Chance Louis (Roddy McDowall), and undercover agent and lounge singer Sarah (CaitlinO'Heaney). This set presents all complete 20 episodes from the first season, plus a number of bonus features including a making-of documentary with Collins, O'Heaney and other series principals, costume and artifacts galleries, a collector's booklet, andmuch more.
