This crazy comedy about a mismatched set of bank robbers on the run from the law is a remake of the French version, "Les Fugitifs" (1986). On the very day that a former bank robber played by Nick Nolte is released from prison, he has the dumb luck to be kidnapped by the incompetent Martin Short during a bank robbery gone bad. A police detective assigned to the case, played by James Earl Jones, naturally assumes that Nolte is back up to his old tricks, so Short and Nolte head out on the lam, with Short's six-year-old daughter along for the ride.
