To have or not to have children - the state department of health has made the decision in the depression era tale, "Tomorrow's Children" (1934). Mr. and Mrs. Mason (Arthur Wanzer and Sarah Padden) are alcoholic and welfare-dependent ne'er-do-wells who aretold that they and their children must either accept sterilization, so that their defective genes cannot carry on, or lose their welfare benefits. However, their daughter Alice (Diane Sinclair), who seems to have escaped the rotten genes, wants to have children with her fianc Jim (Carlyle Moore Jr.). Alice flees and engages sympathetic physician Dr. Brooks (Don Douglas) and Father O'Brien (Crane Wilbur) to plead her case.
