Veteran actors Jason Robards, Mischa Auer, Lola Lane and some of the bright newcomers of the day, including Claudia Dell, Paul Ellis, and Richard Hemingway star in this adventuresome mystery. Directed by silent screen actress Dorothy Davenport, Dell stars as detective Barbara Hammond who is discovered with the corpse of the woman she had been investigating, Lane, as singer Jane Merrick. When Hammond is arrested for murder, her reporter husband, Jerry Beal, played by Hemingway, attempts to track the realkiller, with encounters in a sanatorium, with a brain transplant, a gangster, and a twin sister.
